Hypnosis is often portrayed as a control tactic — to get people to commit crimes or fall in love, for instance. Hypnotists are often also seen as magicians!
In a clinical setting, hypnosis is used as a psychological therapeutic tool, either as part of a therapy plan, or as a stand-alone therapy. It’s purpose is to help you experience changes in sensations, perceptions, thoughts and behaviours. It’s done in a clinical setting and performed by a trained professional.
Over 85% of people will readily respond to clinical hypnotherapy. It allows you to relax and reduce stress and anxiety. You are fully in control throughout and cannot be made to do anything against your will.
I work with people who are struggling to cope with their personal situations, helping you to take back control of your health, rebalance your life and feel re-energised and confident again.
By understanding your goals, both mental and physical, I will guide you through manageable changes that will optimize you and your health and help you to feel better every day.
Having worked for over 20 years in challenging corporate environments, I know how difficult it is to juggle career and home life and follow a healthy lifestyle at the same time.
In 2015, my husband was diagnosed with FND, a chronic pain disorder that left him barely able to function. With the stress that brought, I subsequently experienced my very own ‘annus horribilis’ which resulted in being rushed to hospital in an ambulance. It was then that I decided to take some time out to help both of us to heal.
I practiced and studied Mindfulness and went on to complete my Certificate in Mindfulness Diploma. Experiencing first-hand the improvement in my husband’s chronic pain, in both of our stress levels, and to the quality of our lives led me to enrol at the Central England College of Clinical Hypnotherapy, where I retrained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner. I have been teaching Pilates Matwork for many years, so focusing on how our minds and bodies work in synergy, and how this affects our behaviours and physical wellbeing is my passion. I love helping people to overcome the issues that have may have held them back in their life, or perhaps manifested into a physical condition.
There is no ‘one size fits all approach. I have the knowledge and coaching skills to support my clients with tailored clinical support and lifestyle programmes. And I try to keep things real… working together we will come to an understanding of your health goals and priorities. This will enable me to tailor your therapy specifically to suit you and may involve elements of hypnosis, fast phobia release, havening, parts integration, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (understanding how and why we do things), solution-focused counselling, and NLP. I am also a keen advocate of gut health. Looking after your gut is one of the most effective ways to maintain an optimum and healthy weight, strengthen your immune system, reduce tissue and joint inflammation and enhance your overall health and wellbeing. I will guide you through realistic, achievable lifestyle changes to suit your requirements and will support your journey to a healthier, happier you.
I can help you with:
People with PTSD can have insomnia, flashbacks, low self-esteem, and a lot of painful or unpleasant emotions. You might constantly relive the event — or lose your memory of it altogether.
When you have PTSD, it might feel like you’ll never get your life back. But it can be treated. Short- and long-term psychotherapy and medications can work very well. Often, the two kinds of treatment are more effective together.
I offer several kinds of therapy to help people who have trauma and PTSD. These include neuro-linguistic programming, havening and cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy.
How it Works
Lots of people think that self-medication with alcohol or drugs is a suitable coping mechanism. It isn’t. Working together, you will learn more responsible and effective ways of managing PTSD.
Giving up destructive habits is not easy. There are many methods to help you quit, such as nicotine patches for smokers or prescription medications for more serious habits. Hypnosis has helped many people kick destructive habits but there are other approaches and one of them might be right for you.
I offer the following therapies to people who need to move themselves away from destructive habits and a one-to-one discussion with me will help you to find the therapy that is just right for you.
How it works: In order for therapies to work you need to truly want to quit your destructive habit. I will help you with healthy, effective replacement actions, guide your subconscious toward your new habits, train your mind to associate your destructive habits with undesirable outcomes and support you during your journey to a healthier, happier you.
Negative thoughts can wear your life away, reduce your self-esteem and propel you towards a life where you cannot take actions, make decisions or work effectively. Negative thoughts can make you a passive observer in your own life and then your thoughts blame you for that as well!
I offer several therapies to help people overcome negative thoughts, banish that hypercritical judge and free you up to make the best life you can.
These include Emotional Freedom Therapy or Cognitive Behavioural and Talking Therapies.
How it Works
Living with a constant critic who won’t allow you to flourish or be happy drags your life down. Together we can explore how to silence your inner critic and allow you to look to the future.
“A phobia is an excessive and irrational fear reaction. If you have a phobia, you may experience a deep sense of dread or panic when you encounter the source of your fear. The fear can be of a certain place, situation, or object. Unlike general anxiety disorders, a phobia is usually connected to something specific.
The impact of a phobia can range from annoying to severely disabling. People with phobias often realize their fear is irrational, but they’re unable to do anything about it. Such fears can interfere with work, school, and personal relationships.” Healthline.com
I can help you to overcome phobias and get your life back on track. I have several treatments available, any one of which might suit you.

Confidence is based on your self-esteem which is your opinion of yourself. People with healthy self-esteem like themselves, value their achievements and have confidence in their abilities.
While everyone lacks confidence in certain situations, people with low self-esteem feel unhappy or unsatisfied with themselves most of the time. This makes it difficult to manage the more complex problems of life.
Confidence issues can be remedied but it takes attention and daily practise to boost self-esteem.
I have therapeutic approaches that can be personalised to fit you as an individual.
This could include Emotional Freedom Therapy or NLP.

Therapy may be a helpful tool if you sleepwalk or struggle with falling and staying asleep. If you have insomnia, therapy can tackle your issues and relax you enough to get you to sleep more easily.
If you’re a sleepwalker, therapy can also train you to wake up when you feel your feet hit the floor and help you avoid sleepwalking escapades.
And if you just want to sleep a little better, I can help with that, too.
I have many techniques that can increase the amount of time you sleep and the amount of time spent in deep sleep — the type of sleep you need to wake up feeling refreshed.
These techniques could include Clinical Hypnotherapy or EFT.
How it works:
